David Newell

David Newell established his business in Covent Garden in central London in 1985.

He is a Fellow of the British Horological Institute and a member of the Antiquarian Horological Society.

His work includes the conservation of all the fine French clocks in the Wallace Collection, Manchester Square, London.

He looks after clocks for the National Trust and English Heritage. He is recommended by the major auction houses.

We offer a complete service for the repair and restoration of most types of quality antique clock from a simple clean and overhaul to the reconstruction of major sections of the clock movement. We will overhaul your grandfather clock movement for instance and are also able to restore the case and dial.

We can make missing parts in the style of the original using appropriate materials.

Over the years we have built up many trade contacts who help us in specialist areas such as bell casting, glass bevelling and marble restoration.

Estimates are free if the clock is brought to the workshop. A good idea of cost can also be given over the telephone or by email especially if images are provided. Each job carries a two year guarantee.

Work for private clients forms an important part of the business. We aim to help you understand the restoration process and will carefully consider your wishes whilst carrying out the work.
